However, domestic reports about scaffolding are mainly found in the field of language education, making it difficult to assume that the concept and implemen-tation of scaffolding are widespread. This report outlines the concept of scaffolding and the theory of social constructivism\nfocusing on Vygotskyʼs concept of “the zone of proximal development” as the background theory of scaffolding, as well as\nseeks to reclassify the implementation of scaffolding. As a result, scaffolding was reclassified into three sub-processes: 1) prepare and adjust for learning; 2) to support and promote understanding, thinking, and ideas; and 3) to promote reflection.
