The Ministry of Health is advancing improvements to medical care under a policy of “qualitatively improving health activities in Mongolia to deliver reliable, safe international-standard care in fiscal 2013.” At the same time,\nMongolia and Japan are deepening their medical exchange programs, and expectations for Japan in this area are increasing. This study researched and analyzed this Mongolian medical system as well as developments in medical exchange between Mongolia and Japan. While Mongolia’s medical system has become more modernized from year to year and the numbers of medical facilities and doctors in the country have increased, most of this increase in the number of private medical facilities has come from clinics operated by private practitioners, the vast majority of which are small-scale facilities.
