The questionnaire included the following questions: demographic characteristics of participants, a sense of fulfillment in dialysis nursing, work motivation in dialysis care, nurses’ views on dialysis patients, psychological distance from patients, nurses’ perceptions of self-management support for dialysis patients, and the current state of self-management support activities.\nResults: Few nurses were satisfied with their own self-management support activities; however more than 80% of the nurses had “views on patients with particular emphasis on respect for daily life and autonomy of the patient.” The “views on patients” were positively correlated with “autonomous work motivation” and associated with nurses having a sense of fulfillment in practicing dialysis care as well. By factor analysis, self-management support items were classified into six categories of factor. We then performed multiple regression analysis with each current state of self-management support activities as the dependent variable.
