The study participants were 15 early-stage ADpatients and 15 healthy elderly controls. After participants read words aloud, they completed a repetitive word-stemcompletion task. Their explicit memory performance was assessed with the Miyake memory test. Both patients with AD andhealthy elderly controls exhibited significant priming effects.There was no statistically significant correlation betweenperformance on the word-stem completion task and the Miyake memory test.
