The methodology of this study was semi-structured interviews with two companies that employ persons with mental disabilities and analysis of the results using coded categorization. Additionally, to supplement the results, 10 cases were aggregated from support records at five companies that have provided workplace training and other support. As a result, it became clear that if supporters do not understand of the management perspective of corporations when asking for protective consideration for people with disabilities, there is risk of a gap with what can actually be implemented in the company. Differences in the perceptions of companies and employment support centers towards such employment support may thus arise. To prevent such differing perceptions and smoothly provide support to both the person and the company, supporters in their discussions with and visits to the company should understand the management perspective while showing what consideration will be necessary for the person and what role s/he can play in the company.
