A self-administered questionnaire was delivered to 118 nurses (59 males and 59females) working for 10 facilities belonging to Japanese Association of Clinical Cancer Centers, among which 104 usablequestionnaires were collected and used in the analysis (a valid response rate of 88.1%). Multiple regression analysis wasused to assess the effects of various variables (sex, age, years of cancer nursing experience, academic background, thelevel of autonomy, lifestyle, and so on) on the practice of caring behavior. Multiple correlation coefficient R, coefficientof determination R2, and partial correlation coefficient were 0.683, 0.466, and 0.098, respectively on the practice of caringbehavior when the values of relevant factors being equal between men and women.
