The latter test condition (with the cup) was further subdivided into two cases: in the first case, the subject held the cup in her hand before standing (TUG grip), and in the second case, the subject held the cup in her hand after standing (TUG stand).The task completion time and the number of steps taken by the subjects under each set of conditions were measured and evaluated by one-way analysis of variance. The results were then compared using the Bonferroni method (significance level 5%).<Results>The participants took more time to complete the task in TUG stand. Compared with TUG normal, the number of steps was significantly increased in TUG grip and TUG stand.<Conclusion>When a person performs the TUG while holding a cup, not only attitude control capability but also attentiveness is required.
